Early Review Of The Dark Knight Manual Book

This one is due out July 24th from Insight Editions Books.  Legions of Gotham has your first look at this great new interactive book.

About the Book: In 2005, filmmaker Christopher Nolan redefined Batman for a new generation with Batman Begins, followed in 2008 by The Dark Knight, and now 2012’s conclusion to the trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. Here, for the first time, is an in-world exploration of Christopher Nolan’s Batman: The Dark Knight Manual, the definitive guide to his tools, vehicles, and technologies.

Following the destruction of Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne began to assemble key sketches, diagrams, observations, and other top-secret documents germane to becoming Batman; he then entrusted this manual to his faithful butler, Alfred. Every defining moment is detailed here, charting Wayne’s collaborations with Lucius Fox at Wayne Enterprises on the latest cutting-edge technology.

Featuring removable documents, including the design and capability of the famed utility belt, the hi-tech functions of Batman’s cowl, and every detail of his amazing arsenal of weapons and gadgets, The Dark Knight Manual reveals how Bruce Wayne operates as Gotham’s greatest protector.

Our Take: Brandon Snider and Insight Editions have brought Batman fans a fantastic new hardcover interactive title in The Dark Knight Manual.  The book focuses on the three Nolan-verse Batman films with tons of character and weaponry information.  What makes this book really stand out and pop for fans is page after page of interactive features, like sticky "notes to self" from Batman on Waynetech logo stationary, various files, diagrams and even a huge fold-out map of Gotham City (see below).

I have dozens of Batman guides and hardcovers in my collection, but this one stands out as the funnest yet, and with some cool information on the Dark Knight Rises "The Bat" flying vehicle, Bane and Catwoman, this one is a great way to get amped up for the new film this July!  We definately recommend this one to Batman fans.   The book also includes a great CD-rom in the back (see pic below) that offers some wallpaper and screen savers based on the Nolan-verse films.

We will be interviewing the author of this one, Brandon T. Snider, so if you'd like to submit your questions for him, email us at legionsofgotham.org @ gmail.com (remove the spaces).
